Allow us to introduce Nils Hoffmann — a 20-year-old German cyclist and adventurer who has already completed an extraordinary bicycle journey from Stuttgart to Seoul, covering more than 13,000 kilometres across several continents.
Now, in his latest challenge, Nils is turning his attention to Australia, hugging the coastline as he rides south from Brisbane to Melbourne.
Starting from Brisbane on the 22nd of February, Nils will be riding the Trike Bike CHILL on this epic 2,500 km coastal expedition. This journey will test endurance, adaptability, and the real-world touring capability of the Trike Bike CHILL across changing terrain, coastal winds, heat, rain, and long open stretches of road.

With every ride day, we’ll post updates including distance covered, route details, conditions, photos, and video highlights so you can track progress in real time. Whether it’s a tough headwind day or a smooth scenic coastal stretch, you’ll be able to experience the journey alongside Nils as the expedition unfolds kilometre by kilometre.

Trike Bike CHILL
Journal Update Day 1
Today was the start of our new adventure travelling from Brisbane to Melbourne on a Trike Bike electric tricycle. It was great to ride around Brisbane early morning along the Brisbane River to the historic "Brisbane" sign which marked the official starting point
The highlight was the Velo 1, this is a dedicated bike path starting in South Bank and travelling some 20 km to the south before entering the more industrial areas on the way to the Gold Coast. The temperature was around 35°C and was really testing my endurance as this is my first time riding since finishing in Seoul some 2 months earlier.
Key takeaway: This was a great shakedown trip for the Trike Bike CHILL. I am making a few changes on the Gold Coast over the next few days which will make my trip even more enjoyable heading to Melbourne.
