Varsity Lakes to Stokers Siding • Expedition Day 2
Allow us to introduce Nils Hoffmann — a 20-year-old German cyclist and adventurer who has already completed an extraordinary bicycle journey from Stuttgart to Seoul, covering more than 13,000 kilometres across several continents.

Journal Update Day 2 | Varsity Lakes to Strokers Siding Station
Today is day two of my cycling journey from Brisbane to Melbourne. I started this morning in Varsity Lakes and rode through some beautiful, remote, hilly areas before arriving in Murwillumbah.
Along the way, I enjoyed stunning landscapes and travelled mostly beside small rivers and creeks. From there, I continued along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail where I found a good spot to pitch my tent for the night at Stockers Siding.
The temperature reached 32°C today, and although there were a few sudden rain showers, they passed as quickly as they arrived. The forecast tomorrow is very different, possibly more than 200 mm of rain.
Key takeaway: It's amazing how quickly you can leave the city in Australia and get into the bush.
