Battery Capacity to Voltage Chart

Battery percentage voltage chart for electric tricycles

A lot of our customers are getting better educated about the electric tricycles we are selling and I thought it would be a great time to release some more technical information for those customers who may be interested.  Today we are talking about a battery capacity and battery voltage.

A battery capacity-to-voltage chart is a great tool to help you understand how much charge is left in your battery at any time. Here’s how it can help you:

1. Keep Track of Your Battery Life

  • By comparing your battery’s voltage with this chart, you can see exactly how much charge is left. So, if you’re planning a ride, you’ll know if your battery is fully charged or getting low, helping you avoid surprises during your trip.

2. Estimate How Far You Can Go

  • Knowing your battery’s capacity lets you estimate how much further you can travel before needing to recharge. This way, you can plan longer rides confidently, knowing you won’t run out of power unexpectedly.

3. Monitor Your Battery Health

  • Over time, batteries naturally wear out and hold less charge at full voltage. By using this chart, you can see if your battery is performing as it should or if it might be showing signs of aging or reduced capacity. It’s a simple way to keep an eye on your battery’s health.

4. Troubleshoot Any Battery Issues Early

  • If you notice your fully charged battery’s voltage doesn’t match what’s on the chart, or if the charge drops faster than expected, it might indicate an issue—like a problem with the charger or an imbalance in the cells. This can help you catch problems early before they become more serious.

5. Get the Most Out of Your Battery

  • This chart can also help you extend the life of your battery by avoiding deep discharges (where it’s nearly empty). Charging it before it gets too low, say around 20-30%, can help keep your battery healthy for longer.

6. How do you monitor battery voltage ?

  • Well, it’s pretty easy if you have access to a multimeter, simply insert the multimeter probes in the base of the battery making sure to keep the polarity correct and using the DC setting on the multimeter simply read the voltage, compare this to the graph and you will see exactly how much battery capacity is left at any time.

In short, this chart is here to make your life easier—helping you keep track of your battery’s charge, predict how far you can ride, monitor its health, and keep it running smoothly for years to come.
